Pokhara Rhinos Talent Hunt 2017: Dev Shah joins Rhino squad

Staying true to its promise, Pokhara Rhinos has organized a talent hunt program, giving young and emerging players of Pokhara an opportunity to showcase their skills. 120 players participated in the ‘Talent Hunt’, Dev Shah, a promising player outshone them all. He has joined the Pokhara Rhinos squad and will be representing the team in EPL 2017.

Hailed by the community of Pokhara including the local government bodies, the Talent Hunt was met with great enthusiasm. The mayor of Pokhara, Mr. Man Bahadur GC wished all participants luck in his speech and spoke on the importance of sports and the need of its development. Captain Shakti Gauchan encouraged the young players with a motivational speech, after which the competition was declared


24 players were shortlisted from the 120 and then asked to play a match of 24 overs. Of the 24, 7 (listed below) were further shortlisted.

  2. Prakash Khanal
  3. Bijyan Bista
  4. Deepak Gurung
  5. Kushal Malla
  6. Suman Ghimire
  7. Dev Shah

 The 7 selected players participated in a training camp session, and after witnessing some exemplary performances, the judges deemed Dev Shah the winner. The competition was judged by Nabin Jha and Shakti Gauchan.

2 young players were also selected from the event as special entry (emerging young players)
