Pokhara Rhinos clinch Scotland Captain Kyle Coetzer for EPL 2018

TVS EPL 2018 is promising to be a spectacle – cricketing legends from all around the world will be arriving in Kathmandu in December. With Pokhara Rhinos latest addition, Kyle James Coetzer– the captain of Scotland’s national cricket team, it seems the spectacle is going to be grand.

Coetzer’s addition to the team gives Pokhara Rhinos a significant advantage to their already stellar team comprising of national and international stars. Being named one of the ten players to watch ahead of 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Coetzer is one of the greatest assets of the Scottish national cricket team.

A right handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium, Coetzer has been a national cricketer since a young age, captaining the team at U-15, U-17, and U -19 level. After being selected the captain of the Scotland national team in December, 2016, he went on to captain the Scottish ODI squad for Zimbabwe tour in 2017. Creating an impression in the tour, Coetzer scored a century in the first match itself, going on to become the first Scotsman to do so on debut as captain. Keeping up with the splendid performances, in 2017 he scored an 84 ball 118 in Scotland’s win over Sri Lanka and this year he led his team to a six run win over England in a 50 over ODI contributing 58 in 49 balls.

“We (Scotland and Nepal) had an interesting and a highly competitive match at the qualifiers earlier this year in Zimbabwe. Ever since the match, I have wanted to play with players of the Nepalese national team. I want to thank Pokhara Rhinos for the wonderful opportunity and look forward to play in Nepal”, Coetzer said in a statement.
