Rhinos bolstered by three Pakistanis

Pokhara Rhinos, one of the six franchises in Everest Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament, have bolstered their squad roping in three Pakistani cricketers for this season. Opening batsman Israrullah, left arm medium pace bowler Taj Wali and right hand batsman Aasif Ali are Rhinos’ international recruits.

Israrullah has a haul of experience as he has played in 68 First Class games, 48 List A matches and 47 Twenty20s. He plays for Peshawar Panthers in the Pakistani Super League (PSL) and has the highest score of 82 in Twenty20s. The 27-year old has 222 runs as highest scored in First Class and 155 in List A.

Wali and Ali play for Faisalabad Wolves in the PSL with the former appearing in 38 First Class matches, 29 List A games and 21 Twenty20s. Wali, a 26-year old, has 157 First Class wickets to his name and 19 in Twenty20s. Middle order batsman Ali is the most experienced player in cricket’s shortest version among the three international recruits having played 66 Twenty20s. The 26-year old also has one T20 century along with six fifties.

Ali also has experience of playing in 29 First Class and List A matches each. Rhinos will be led by veteran left arm spinner Shakti Gauchan who is also the marquee player of the team. Rhinos have picked up 16-year old Dev Shah from their talent hunt programme. Shah is a Chinaman bowler. Binod Bhandari, Bikram Sob, Bipin Khatri, Nurdhoj Sen, Kishor Mahato, Rajesh Pulami Magar, Sunil Dhamala, Saurav Khanal, Santosh Bhatt and Sushan Bhari Shrestha are other members of the 15-man Rhinos squad.
